Ceremonial Yuzu Kukicha
A rare varietal of tea comprised of the stems and the stalks of the finest ceremonial tea plant, the Gyokuro tea plant. This tea represents some of the finest tea produced in Japan. This tea is grown where the first Japanese tea was planted in the Uji district of Honshu, near Kyoto. The tea is picked from old bushes that are shaded to reduce the effects of photosynthesis. Everything connected with tending and making the tea is done by hand. A popular tea used in macrobiotic diets. We had 500lbs of fresh Japanese yuzu fruit hand-zested in Japan to give us the most aromatic peel possible. The tea and yuzu were blended and this fabulous expression came to life.
